about

A fragment of the long Òran na comhachaig, the song of the owl, probably written by one of the hunter bards in the 1500s. In this fragment the owl introduces herself and talks about her favourite rock and how much she enjoys hunting in Perthshire.I first came across this song when Margaret Bennett sang it in a workshop and then taught it. I love imagining the wise old owl sitting on Creag Ghuanach, watching generations come and go.
Vocals Rena Gertz, guitar Alan Murray, small pipes Murdo MacLeod
