A mortal man was in love with a fairy woman, and to keep it secret, whenever he went to meet her, he told his brothers he’d go hunting grouse. They grew suspicious when he never brought any grouse back home, so one day they followed him and saw who he was meeting. Rather than see him together with a supernatural being, they killed him. This is the fairy woman’s lament when she found her lover dead and she also curses his brothers.
